The New York Times: A 6th grade girl who went to school in Brooklyn died from swine flu this week and health experts are saying a big reason could be from her being overweight. I don't see how they could come up with that since some of the other new deaths have been children under 2 years old. I think the swine flu is an illness that can take over just about anybody. No one's able to fight it off because it's so strong. I don't think it has much to do with your weight.

The Kansas City Star: Health inspections have been done in restaurants throughout the area and some places had dried food on their utensils, moldy strawberries, food with no expiration date, etc. I think they need to get inspected more often to prevent businesses from getting taken out and promote better health for customers.

The Kansas City Star: The cigarette, the single thing that has caused more than 400,000 deaths every year has been argued over for years. Congress sent Obama a bill to restrict cigarettes and he is strongly considering doing so. I like this idea because i'm really against smoking. I don't see the point in paying your way into your death bed, but that's everyone's own choice!

  1. I am saddened by the little 6 year old girl that died from the swine flu. What a horrible comment to make that she died because of being overweight. In my eyes, that is just awful!

  2. I disagree with smoking as well. I'm glad they went through with the bill. My parents use to smoke and just a year ago they quite. It's such a huge difference in our house since then. :)
